Texta or felt tipped pen ink can be very difficult to remove from ceramic tiles due to their porosity and the absorbency of grout joints.

While ceramic tiles appear to have a hard shell, they are in fact very porous and absorb the ink from the texta pen into their surface making them often very difficult to clean.

In this situation the ink can be drawn from the tile using a specially designed cleaning solution that suspends the ink on the surface preventing it from being soaked into the tile.

Caution is need as many of the off the shelf graffiti removers will actually soak the ink into the tile creating a permanent stain.
