The challenge presented to our Technicians on this site was to remove very thick stainer type solvent based texta graffiti pen from very delicate and soft sandstone.

The sandstone is on the facade of a high profile Melbourne building from the 1800’s that is protected by a heritage listing.

Extensive tests were conducted on site to ascertain the best removal technique to break down the molecular structure of the texta and extract it from the substrate.

All the time ensuring that no erosion or disfigurement occurred to the sandstone block work.

A difficult task!

As you can see in the photos a perfect result was achieved with some care and expertise of our technicians.

A client was over the moon and very relieved!
