Remove Graffiti Quickly – Graffiti Phycology

Graffiti spreads if not controlled

Graffiti quickly spreads if it’s not managed and controlled. The reality is that graffiti vandals only graffiti for recognition amongst their peers. If you take this recognition away, with rapid removal, the site gets known amongst gangs as not being one worth hitting. Paint is expensive to buy and not easy to obtain, so vandals don’t like to waste it.

If you let graffiti build up however, it quickly spreads to other surfaces. Generally one vandal won’t target and cover the work of someone else out of respect. So they target the next available area that they think won’t be removed to quickly. If you want to win the battle, GET IT OFF quickly and with out trace and send the clear message that it is not tolerated on your asset. You will win!

The Graffiti Eaters have been successful in maintaining graffiti free buildings all around Australia with our rapid removal and professional restoration programs

Just make sure that any strategy you adopt, doesn’t encourage graffiti vandals. Professional looking orderly signs for instance are better then using graffiti to try and reduce graffiti!

Fire Damage / Carbon Removal

Carbon Removal - Before and After

Fires are devastating – they also produce highly acidic environments, correct cleaning is critical!
The restoration of surfaces that have been involved in a fire environment is a very specialised area.
Many people do not realise that removing the physical carbon is not sufficient to restore a surface. As part of the combustion process, an acid is produced as a bi-product which severely attacks metal surfaces in particular.
It is critical to chemically neutralise this acidity to ensure the building suffers no long term fire smell and corrosion problems. Rinsing with water alone is not sufficient.
When our team treat your building, we analyse the exact nature of the fire and what was involved in the combustion equation. We then chemically neutralise the entire building based on it’s individual requirements.

Hydraulic Oil Spill on Concrete Driveway

You just never know when disaster can strike!

Imagine arriving at your new factory complex one morning to find your driveway, walls and work vehicles covered in oil.

Unfortunately some of your staff arrived before you and drove through the oil spreading the mess further.

The cause of the problem was the large rubbish truck who arrived early in the morning to collect your bins. He had a hydraulic hose break on his truck which sprayed 100Lt of hydraulic oil everywhere.

Would you know what to do next and who to call?

Step 1. Cordon off the area so that cars and pedestrians don’t slip on the oil and spread it further.

Step 2. Call the Graffiti Eaters on 1300 305 307 and get a Technician dispatched and on his way. (This is a number worth having in your mobile for emergencies)

Step 3. Get an absorbant material like kitty litter or sand and spread it over the oil to soak up any liquid oil.

Step 4. Relax and get on with your busy day and let the Graffiti Eater team take control of the situation for you.

Within 5 hours the two  Graffiti Eater Technicians had the kitty litter collected, the drains sealed to prevent an environmental infringement, the area safely OH&S secured, the oil chemically extracted from the concrete and the waste oil and water vacuumed into holding tanks for collection and processing by EPA approved contractors with an EPA certificate issued.

The photos demonstrate the extent of the oil spill and the terrific result achieved to save the concrete driveway without any staining.

Warehouse – High Dust Removal

A big problem for modern manufacturing plants is the build up of dust up high in factories on lights, beams, pipes, ducts and the tops of machines. Wind through the roof area can blow the dust down over the stock and machinery in the factory causing major quality and health issues.
Many factories and warehouses need to be dust free. Industries like, food manufacturing, dry cleaning, clothing and fabric manufacturing and printing to name a few.
Specialist access equipment is generally required with height qualified technicians to access the difficult and sometimes dangerous areas.
Some contractors use compressed air to blow the dust down to the floor area however this causes more problems as the stock and machinery becomes contaminated.
It is most important to collect the dust and remove it from the building.
In some instances the work can be performed while the plant is still operating and is often done during shut down periods. Many companies prefer to have a maintenance program in place where we attend on a regular basis and work our way through the plant a stage at a time. The results are spectacular!

Graffiti Advertising – A Clever Approach

A great example of clever marketing to sell a message.

The right place at the right time to make a strong point. This type of advertising works at deterring young impressionable kids in particular that are contemplating conducting graffiti.

Graffiti vandalism costs the community, to win the battle, we as a community need to sell a strong message that it is not tolerated.

Live Animal Graffiti: Weird or What?

I don’t agree with it, but it helps us understand the motivations behind people’s actions!

The biggest challenge we face in society in combating graffiti vandalism is in understanding why people do it in the first place. If we remove the motivation then the incidence of graffiti will reduce and hence, the graffiti cost the community is less.

This post is by no means trying to promote or glorify graffiti vandalism. But what it does signify is the lengths some people will go to make a point or advertise a product or cause. These motivations must be understood at all levels if we are ever going to reduce graffiti in our community.

Today’s content was forwarded to me by Dr Marc Dussault, The Exponential Growth Strategist, an advocate for Antimimeticisomorphism which I am sure you agree today’s blog post is!
